Big Reveal: National Heritage Area Statement of Significance and Themes

Public Meetings

Please join us in person for an exciting unveiling of the Statement of Significance and key Themes that define proposed  national heritage area centered on Stories of the Chesapeake Heritage Area extending from the C and D canal to and including Dorchester County.  Discover what makes this place truly special through engaging stories and insights.  It is a great chance to connect, learn, and celebrate our heritage together.

Learn more about national heritage areas, ask questions, and share your ideas for the themes and priorities for this exciting national recognition for our region.  National Heritage Areas are places where historic, cultural, and natural resources combine to form cohesive, nationally important landscapes.  Unlike national parks, National Heritage Areas are large lived-in landscapes.  Consequently, National Heritage Areas entities collaborate with communities to determine how to make heritage relevant to local interests and needs.

Do not miss this unveiling event that highlights the heart and soul of our community!
